Homemade gas foot pedal for 4 stud torch
This is the foot pedal for our GTT Phantom, it was made from electric solenoid replacement valves for a small Lincoln tig welder. We explained what we wanted to do, and asked our local welding supplier what valves would work for the oxy and propane.

The solenoid valves are wired in parallel, and are plugged into the outlet of the foot pedal. The solenoids have 120 volt AC coils, and they are normally closed with no electricity applied. The total cost about $110... all parts were new, probably could have built it for less by scrounging for parts. The solenoids were mounted onto a brass bar, which was screwed to the wooden base. When it was all finished, we covered it with an high voltage housing out of a old tv. We have been using it constantly for almost a year now.
