This two-day workshop will be a wonderful combination of two of Kim's classes:
 
Taking Flight: Sculptural Glass Bird Beads
This workshop will focus on creating sculptural bird beads using a variety of techniques. Demonstrations will include forming simple sculptural birds and moving to more complex forms. Techniques will include color mixing and overlays, encasing, assembling canes, precise dot and stringer placement, and subtle use of heat to control form and pattern.
Intermediate to Advanced level class.
 
 
The Garden Path: Floral Beads
This workshop is designed to strengthen your skills as a beadmaker and assist you in achieving your own unique designs. Techniques will include multi-layer encasing, assembling canes, color mixing and overlays, sculptural techniques, surface decorations, and creating complex components. We'll study textures, shapes and colors found in nature as our primary source of inspiration and how to integrate these elements to create a wide variety of designs. We’ll also focus on perfecting your bead shapes, controlled application of stringers and dots, and creating complementary backgrounds.
